I am enthusiastic to announce that I have finally had the time to draft a foreign-service update! It can be found below. I would kindly ask the legates to distribute it to the regional forums of the regions they are assigned to.

Venetian Regional Forums Established
While Venice experienced a brief lull in activity at the beginning of February, coinciding with elections for regional WA delegate, the participation of Venetian citizens in the day-to-day matters of the region is now higher than ever after the decision was made for the Republic’s government to transition from the regional Discord server to brand-new forums hosted by Proboards. The initiative, undertaken by Doge Atlantis Tiberius, was markedly successful, providing a new platform not only for the work of the Venetian Senate & Supreme Council, but also for less-serious community discussion, rôle-play, & even spam games.
Venetians are now engaged in discussing the technicalities of the World Assembly delegate’s office, counting to 1000, & everything in between. The forums, currently boasting over 500 posts in 50 threads barely half a month after their founding, are open to prospective Venetians & diplomats alike who wish to see firsthand the platform that has rapidly become the heart of regional affairs.

New Senate Elected
With the successful shift of regional affairs to the forums there has been a significant revitalisation of the Republic’s offices – none more important, however, than the Consiglio dei Pregadi (the Venetian Senate). Following the passage of a new act regulating elections, marking the transition of the Senate from a self-electing body to a democratic legislature with regular elections, His Serenity the Doge called for nominations to the Consiglio. Ballots were cast from the 1st to the 3rd of March following a week of intense campaigning by four nominees on issues ranging from the establishment of a new judicial system to the prevention of corruption in the magistracies.
Though the race proved to be very tight, in the end the three seats were filled by incumbent senators, Grand Chancellor Tuandle & consiglieri Ervald & Oíran (whose seat was hotly contested by a new citizen, Valery Sablin). The new Consiglio – having been convened by the Doge – has already begun drafting legislation to reform the Venetian judiciary with the promulgation of a criminal code & the establishment of a legislative archive on the agenda as well. Venetians agree that with the Consiglio cemented as a democratic institution elected by the people, the Republic has attained its goal of popular representation & will doubtless continue to serve the region’s citizens for many years to come.
