The Consiglio dei Pregadi The Consiglio de Pregadi is the legislative body of Venice. The Consiglio makes laws, approves Supreme Council Nominees and is the democratic check on the power of the Doge. Members of the Consiglio are called senators and they are elected in regular elections every 60 days.
