Office of the Doge
My fellow Venetians — I have some exciting news.
I think it's become obvious over the last few weeks that we've lost some momentum as a region. After unprecedented growth and progress through December and January, we were on fire. We added dozens of new nations (to a height of 150+) and established a democratic government from scratch. It's natural after going so quick, that we experience some growing pains.
I have thought over some of our struggles of establishing an organization government and ID'ed two major problems:
(1) Difficulty in holding elections using NS polls or google forms
(2) Difficulty staying organized as a government using dispatches and Discord
(3) Difficulty in having multiple different trains of conversations with only 1 Regional Message Board and Discord
To solve these problems, I have put my blood, sweat, and tears into a dedicated regional forum for Venice. The link is in the World Factbook Entry and here (https://venetianrepublic.boards.net/).
These dedicated forums for Venice will allow us to stay more organized as a region, create polls and hold orderly elections, as well as not requiring anyone to download Discord. We will still keep our Discord alive and active for socializing as a region, but all government business will transition to the new forums.
As you can see, there are already dedicated forums for our government and for regional discussion. This will allow all officials to have dedicated spaces to work, and create an environment for threaded discussions around different topics (vs. the RMB which can play host to dozens of discussions at once). I have also put in the extra effort to try to have the forum match our Venetian theme, and while there's still some work to do, I am happy with it at first glance!
I would ask all Venetians to check it out, and to please register an account! If you are already in government, I will get you set up with your fancy government usergroup. If you're not, I invite you to apply for citizenship (https://venetianrepublic.boards.net/threads/recent/2) to get the official Venetian citizen usergroup.
I am open to all feedback and suggestions, and am extremely excited for this next phase of Venice's growth and development!
