We saw great success in promoting the forum and citizenship in the lead up to our Consiglio elections. We saw a surge in applications and very strong voter turnout.
How do we incentivize nations getting on the forum and checking in here once or twice a day with the urgency of elections in the rearview mirror?

We need to create activity in the region and on the forum. Part of that is to increase the number of nations through increased recruitment efforts.
But with activity I think we should create more things people can do in our region. Right now all we have is roleplay, some forum games and the occasional poll. All of the things do not involve a lot of people. The games on the forum are mostly only played by people in the government and the polls do not happen very often. We have not had any roleplay in a while as well.
We need to improve the roleplay and start running those more. Also the hiring of RP admins would help the Councillor of Roleplay run the events and allow more citizens to get involved in the government.
We need to come up with new events to run that will increase participation. Consiglio canditate Valerysabin may have some ideas for this. But recently activity and discussion has started to increase on discord with it involving many new nations. Which is good for activity.
Another way to increase activity abc involve more citizens is to increase the amount of people working with the government. Currently citizens can become diplomats and work in FA. Also if we increase manual recruitment we can involve many more nations as recruiters. Involving more people in the Supreme Council and other positions will help as well.

This is definitely something to consider. I wholly agree with Tuandle regarding RP & the expansion of opportunities. I have been trying to get more contacts with other regions just to see how they handle things. I have come up with some ideas; however, it must be said that this discussion is rather limited (it seems that government members are going to be the only ones chiming in) & we will not able to take into account everyone's wishes unless they state them explicitly in a post here.
I have already brought this up with Atlantis, but I think it best to bring it up here too: given the success we saw in getting people to participate in elections, having a singular goal the region focuses on for a short amount of time, incentivising everyone to participate, is a workable strategy. I, therefore, think that we should try to organise some sort of local event where more of our citizenry can participate at once & where we can discuss all the ideas we have come up with regarding what Venice should do as a region in one session. Advertising such an event would allow us to get people who usually would not take the time to join a discussion like this & I am sure we can find a method of communication that allows us to listen to everyone in one "session".

I agree, and am very open to the idea of some kind of "event" to advertise for. I also think that creating forum activity, and creating a habit that folks have of logging on and viewing content is going to require some elbow grease. We all (including me!) need to redouble our effort to create ongoing conversations on the forum so when people log-on, they see an active place where they can contribute. I am also searching for other Supreme Council officers. One nation has turned me down, which I respect, so the search remains ongoing.
