To start this sub-forum off, I would like to suggest that a repository of the legal instruments currently in force be created & maintained for the Republic. While the Venetian government has done very well to transition from Discord/NS to the forums, the majority of our laws & policies are still in the form of NationStates dispatches & — it seems to me — remain disparate amongst the pages of various nations in our region.
I myself just stumbled upon our former embassy policy, seemingly unmentioned outside one channel on Discord, which may well have caused confusion with the ordinance I posted had I not noticed it.
I think that both for the sake of longevity (do dispatches remain after nations cease to exist?) & coherence a sub-forum should be created to collect the legal instruments we currently have. It might also be worthwhile to appoint an archivist or magistrate to be in charge of this sort of thing, although activity may require us to hold off on that for the time being.
Would anyone have anything to add to this? I would be happy to take this matter before the Senate in the form of a bill, if others find it reasonable.

Bulletins will still exit after nations no longer exist but factbooks will not.We do have all are legislation on a dispatch but it might make sense to move it off of Nationstates.

Thank you for clarifying that! I did not know they stayed around after the nation posting them ceases to exist. That said, I still think it is a better idea to move the legislation to the forum. The whole purpose of us having one is to keep the things related to regional government organised, & we really need that with laws.

One thing that I do like about dispatches is how easy they are to reference in telegrams and RMB posts. I agree a depository on the forum is a good idea, but perhaps some key announcements and laws should be crossposted as dispatches as well? Not sure the best system to avoid too much extra work...

I think that should be doable if we were to have a magistrate in charge of archiving legislation. There could be a forum account/NS nation dedicated for this purpose which would collect laws on the forum & post the most important ones on NS in the form of a dispatch & pass from magistrate to magistrate. Question is, do we have anyone who would be willing to take up these duties.

I would be okay with doing that

I would be okay with doing that Sounds good to me! I don't know if this role needs to be a Supreme Council position, so if they Consiglio would like to create it via legislation that would be fine -- unless everyone would prefer it be on the Council.

It is not a council position and it will gain its reasonability from else where not from the doge.
I will work on writing up a new bill.

I have this discussion to the Consiglio sub forum if anyone has any more thoughts.

I do not think it needs to be a council position either. Just a simple matter of administration. Thank you for drafting it, Tuandle!
